Benefits Planners help SSI and SSDI beneficiaries understand relationships between work and public disability benefits for individuals planning to work, are working, or are changing jobs.
Attention Tier II Benefits Planners: If you have missed a training webinar, view them via the online training course.
Certified Work Incentives Network (WIN) Benefits Planners receive a username and password for access to the secure WIN Members-Only pages and:
- access to secure Beneficiary Intake form
- access to participate in discussion forums, online chats for peer support and asking questions,
- access to regularly updated information and tools,
- receive notices of Tier II training events,
- WIN-certified Tier II Benefits Planners are eligible to add the title to their professional resume and personnel records
There are three Tiers to Nebraska Benefits Planning:
Tier I - know work is an option, be able to relay minimal aspects of work incentives and make referrals
- Provide encouragement and connectivity to program
- Target audience: Medicaid Eligibility Workers, advocates, consumers, families, community support workers, services coordinators, educators
Tier II - know details about work incentives and who to connect to
Provide basic understanding of work incentives and develop partnership with professionals who support individuals with disabilities
Target audience: Employment counselors, DD employment providers, independent living staff
Tier III – know the complexities of state and federal work incentives and public benefits programs
Provide detailed and ongoing analysis of impact of work on benefits
Target audience: Seasoned benefits specialists
